Gemma and Gareth met 12 years ago on a dance floor, and had a beautiful, fun-filled and vibrant wedding in the Tithe Barn - perfectly captured by Jules Fortune. Here is what they have to say about their day and us here at Browsholme;

We came for a sneaky look around Browsholme on a pizza night before booking the official viewing. We fell in love with the barn and the courtyard as soon as we saw it. We still get goosebumps every time when we walk in there.

The barn was for me was a picture perfect vision for our wedding day, and Gaz being a building surveyor and who loves barns was so impressed by the features and the details. Also being quite local and private was important. We looked at various other locations but nowhere could compare. We just couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else. Booking a wedding was quite daunting but when we met Amanda, Rebecca and the team we felt in such safe hands - they really made a difference every step of the way.

The uncertainty due to Covid and moving the date 3 times and all our suppliers and guests was the hardest part. It was totally out of our control and at one point we thought we would never get married in the way we wanted with huge numbers for day & night. Amanda and team were so supportive, we had so many long phone calls discussing the changing situation and options, they were so reassuring and made everything feel so much easier.

We had friends who were having nightmares with their venues being uncooperative and demanding more money at every chance, we felt very lucky to have someone who really listened and understood our wishes and did everything they could to make sure that our initial pre-covid dream was still possible. They had integrity, patience and sympathy - We will be forever grateful for that.

Walking down the aisle was a roller coaster of emotions, happy, excited, nervous, relieved. I felt beautiful thanks to the team who helped me look my best!

We didn’t stop smiling. I think the photos show how happy we were.

We had so many things go wrong, not just Covid related but personal issues, so the run up to the day was quite stressful, however on the day everything was perfect. Beyond our high expectations. We went straight on a honeymoon the next day and we couldn’t stop talking about it. We cried so many happy tears. All our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been too. It was the first time we had seen some friends and family in 2 years so for everyone to be in one room together celebrating our love was just mind blowing. Our guests made it so special.

Best thing about the day? Impossible to answer with just one part of the day, we loved everything. Getting ready in the cottage was very relaxing and chilled, walking down the aisle was a once in a lifetime event. The meal, the speeches, the band and the party.

Colour Scheme

The bridesmaids dress were mauve, the men wore a navy blue subtle check which also had a very fine mauve stripe. The cake was mauve and ivory distressed pattern with coordinating flowers. The flowers were a lovely mix of mauve, ivory and pink with greenery.

The Dress

The dress was by Enzoani Blue and I bought it from Ava Rose. It was quite understated but I felt amazing in it. The delicate Chantilly lace top and detail on the train, with a crepe bottom with subtle fish tail which enhanced my figure. The dress was the first thing I bought which ended up being almost 3 years before we eventually got married Thankfully I didn’t go off it!
