Stephanie & Ciaron
We asked Stepanie & Ciaron to share their wedding story with us, here’s what they had to say;
We met at a mutual friends 21st birthday party and became best friends back in 2010. 3 and a half years later we went on our first official date and have been together ever since.
We got engaged while we were on holiday in New Zealand in 2017. We walked to the top of Mount Maunganui in Tauranga and after taking a picture of me looking at the views I turned around to find Ciaron on one knee. Before he had chance to pop the question I jumped on him and we fell over. After lots of tears (mainly from me) he was finally able to ask and show me the ring which was a gorgeous Tiffany princess engagement ring!
We always knew we wanted a rustic vibe for the wedding and just got all the feels when we came to view Browsholme Hall & the Tithe Barn.
It has the best of all worlds with the stunning Browsholme Hall as the backdrop, beautiful gardens and surrounding views and a barn that is perfect just as it is!!
Planning during COVID was a challenge. From not knowing if the wedding could actually go ahead to virtual meetings and cutting our guest list right back to 28 guests... but we ended up with a beautiful, intimate wedding surrounded by our closest family & friends and a day that was filled with love & magic.
I was a bag of nerves the morning of the wedding, not because I thought Ciaron may not be at the end of the aisle but because I am extremely clumsy and the last time I walked down that aisle as a bridesmaid I tripped over my own feet! Just before we went down my veil fell off, so after a quick fix, I clung to my Dad and I was extremely emotional as we reached the end.

On the day itself I felt relaxed (other than serious nerves before the ceremony), smaller numbers certainly helped with the relaxed vibes. Ciaron felt excited and nervous, he completely relaxed after the speeches. The weather was in our favour too, sunny but not too hot and we both just went with the natural flow of the day. All guests thoroughly enjoyed the day and we received nothing but compliments regarding the food, entertainment, flowers and venue! Guests all said they loved the intimacy of the wedding and the entertainment certainly got everybody dancing and enjoying themselves!
Physically getting married was the best thing about our day and just being surrounded by loved ones!
Our approach to planning the wedding was to concentrate on three things each that were important to us, this way we knew how to split the budget and what we could splurge on a little more. Mine were the church, venue and photographer, Ciaron’s were the food, entertainment and venue. My advice would be ‘don’t sweat the small stuff ‘- things will always work out in the end, maybe even for the better! We had a pandemic, a supplier go into liquidation, nearly had no transport for some of the bridesmaids and a fiasco with my wedding dress the day before but it all came together and was even better than we imagined! Ciaron loved being so involved with the planning of the day and that made it even more special as it’s OUR day. Trust your suppliers, they are professionals and you have trusted them enough to choose them so let them be creative.

Here's who helped make the day so special

We hired fairy lights from Browsholme, a neon light from Antha Event Hire and I created all of the on the day stationery myself, which was slightly stressful at times but it all looked perfect on the day & was personal to us.
