What is ‘wassail’ and the purpose of a ‘yule log’? Why did Oliver Cromwell cancel Christmas festivities? What was the origin of our Christmas traditions? Our guides will answer all these questions and more as they take you through time from the Tudor to Victorian era with each room decorated to illustrate Christmas as it would have been in each period of the Hall’s history and from which today’s festive traditions evolved.
The Tithe Barn tea room will be open from 11.30am serving light refreshments and there will be ‘pop up’ stalls selling gifts and crafts.
Hall Tours at 12 noon, 1pm (fully booked) & 1.30pm: £10 per adult, £9 concessions and children under 14yrs free.
