Dog Friendly Trips to Browsholme

We are a family who have four dogs, a number which continuously seems to grow, much to Robert’s chagrin … So, here at Browsholme we know full well that a day out or a holiday wouldn’t be the same without man’s best friend!

As you can imagine, over the past year, we have seen a huge increase of people binging their dogs with them, whether it’s for a weekend away or for a wedding (dog ring bearer anyone?)

Browsholme is the perfect dog friendly day out. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, you can come to our on-site tearoom and stroll around our extensive gardens, and explore the countryside setting an ideal day trip for you, Mr Biggles and the whole family. We even have a lake, which our Spaniel particularly loves to chuck himself into whatever the weather and would happily stand in the water for hours on end if he were allowed.

What’s more, we have made our bijou lodges in the Woodland Glade dog friendly. With one dog per lodge, there’s no need to worry about finding a dog sitter for your short break, they’re perfectly welcome to come with you – and enjoy a cuddle in the warm glow of one of our firepits. If you enjoy walking, when you stay in the Woodland Glade you can take advantage of some amazing countryside walks from your doorstep – most of which handily lead you to one of the renowned pubs in the Ribble Valley.

Last year we ran a picnic in the park event (see picture), which was great fun and we are hoping to do again soon. In June we have a Lucas Terrier Society dog walk, so if you have a Lucas bring them along! We also arrange hugely popular group morning bacon butty and dogs walks around our grounds, which for obvious reasons haven’t run in the past year or so! All being well we’re hoping to reinstate these soon – so fingers crossed.

However, you choose to visit us, we can promise you now that your doggo won’t want to leave at the end of the trip, just read some of the reviews from previous happy travellers! See you soon …

Some of our favourite and walkable dog friendly places to eat at nearby, are:

  • The Red Pump Inn
  • The Higher Buck
  • The Lower Buck
  • The Whitewell Inn
  • The Waddington Arms

If you’ve got a car, some of our favourite walking spots to drive to, are:

  • The Trough of Bowland
  • The Yorkshire Dales
  • Pendle Hill
  • The Pennines
  • The Lake District
