The Hall & Gardens

The Hall & Gardens

A gem set in the heart of the Forest of Bowland

Browsholme Hall is a nationally important Grade I listed historic house. The Hall has a pre-eminent collection of historically associated antiques, paintings and furniture of museum quality. Furthermore the red sandstone house has a genuine claim to be the oldest surviving family home in Lancashire. Browsholme certainly is an historic house unique in so many ways.

Set within the Forest of Bowland, Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Hall is surrounded by ‘picturesque’ gardens and parkland. Visitors are invited to relax and wander in unspoiled countryside, woodland, views to the distant Fells and most noteworthy the lakes or ‘Fish Pond’.

Open to visitors

From 1st May until 10th October we also welcome visitors to share Browsholme’s rich history. Please visit this page for our opening times.

Just a note to say how much we enjoyed our visit to Browsholme yesterday. The feedback from all our members was so good and we all commented on the friendliness and knowledge of Barbara and Janine as guides and Liz and staff for the excellent catering. Please give our thanks to them. As organiser, I very much appreciated the prompt service from Catherine and yourself.

Liverpool National Trust Centre

Following our visit to Browsholme yesterday, I write on behalf of the ladies of P.A.C. to offer our sincere thanks, particularly to Lesley our tour guide. Her knowledge regarding the history of the Hall and the Parker family was outstanding and our members were held spellbound for over an hour. We thoroughly enjoyed our amble round the immaculate gardens. Please thank the staff at the Tithe Barn. Our delicious scones and coffee were beautifully presented. June 2017
