The Forest of Bowland
The Forest of Bowland was designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in 1964 because the landscape was thought to be of national importance and worthy of protection. The primary purpose of this designation is to conserve and enhance the natural and cultural heritage of the area, to keep the Forest of Bowland special.

Walking and Cycling
There is a variety of walking and cycling routes around the Ribble Valley and the Forest of Bowland. If you’ve not brought a bike, they can be hired and delivered to Browsholme Hall through the Cycle Adventure website.

Food
Clitheroe and Longridge both have a good range of independent shops including the award-winning Cowmans sausage shop. Close by is Bowland Wildboar Park (a fellow Green Tourism Business) where you can by Wild Boar meat to try. Also, close by is Leagram Organic Dairy which has been featured on BBC Countryfile.
